Carabassi Beach

Playa de Carabassi is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches on the entire Costa Blanca. Stretching for over two kilometres between El Altet and Arenales del Sol, the beach is backed by protected coastal dunes and fragrant pine woodland — giving it a wild, natural character that is increasingly rare along the Spanish Mediterranean coast.

The water here is exceptional. Shallow, calm and a brilliant shade of turquoise, Carabassi is perfectly suited to families with young children, snorkellers and anyone who simply wants to swim in genuinely clear sea. The seabed is sandy and gently sloping, with no sudden drop-offs, making it one of the safest beaches in the province.

During the summer season, several chiringuito beach bars set up along the shore, serving cold cervezas, fresh grilled fish, and the inevitable afternoon ice cream. Sunbed and parasol hire is available at the main access points. The beach holds a Blue Flag award for water quality, cleanliness and facilities — a standard it has maintained consistently for many years.

From Vista del Sol, Carabassi is just a 5-minute walk or a leisurely bike ride through the quiet residential streets of Arenales del Sol. Early mornings before 10am are particularly magical: the beach is almost empty, the light is golden, and the water is glassy calm. It is the kind of place that makes guests want to extend their stay by another week.
