The Costa Blanca offers some of the best conditions for water sports in the whole of Spain, and from Vista del Sol you are extremely well-placed to take advantage of them. The combination of reliable summer sunshine, warm sea temperatures, calm inshore waters and consistent afternoon thermal winds creates near-perfect conditions for a wide range of activities from May through to October.
The most accessible activities for guests staying at Vista del Sol are paddleboarding (SUP) and sea kayaking, both of which can be hired directly on the Arenales del Sol and Carabassi beaches during the summer season. Both require no experience to enjoy at a basic level, and the shallow, sheltered waters close to shore make them ideal for families with children. Several local operators offer guided kayak tours along the coast, including routes to the quieter coves north of Carabassi.
For those seeking more adrenaline, jet ski hire is available on the main beach during July and August. Pedalo and inflatable boat hire is also widespread throughout the season.
The area around Santa Pola and El Altet to the north of Carabassi is one of the best kitesurfing and windsurfing locations on the southern Costa Blanca, thanks to the reliable Levante and Poniente winds that blow across the open bay. Several accredited schools offer beginner courses and equipment hire. For sailing, Santa Pola marina has both a sailing school and a charter operation offering half-day and full-day trips.
On the beach itself, temporary volleyball nets are erected during summer, and the long flat sands of Carabassi are ideal for beach football, frisbee and cricket.
